The NDIA and Liveable Housing Australia (LHA) have signed a contract that will lead to improved market surety for SDA providers and investors under the NDIS. The new approach to dwelling certification that is being developed will include two stages, with the first being completed at the building plan stage.  This will  offer greater surety to providers and investors that their dwellings will meet the requirements for enrolment once built.

This project is one of several that the Government and NDIA have underway to ensure adequate supply of high quality fit-for-purpose SDA that meets the needs of eligible participants with extreme functional impairment and very high support needs.

The LHD Guidelines provide useful information for consumers seeking to introduce livable design features into a new home and could be readily applied within an existing home during renovation or refurbishment. The Guidelines describe  livable design elements. Each element provides guidance on what performance is expected to achieve either silver, gold or platinum level accreditation. Elements 1–7 cover the core elements of the basic silver level accreditation.

Three levels of performance are detailed in the LHD Guidelines which can be downloaded from the LHA homepage. These voluntary performance levels can be applied to all new dwellings.
Dwellings can qualify for three performance levels: Platinum, Gold and Silver. Performance levels are assigned upon being judged against 15 different criteria. A minumum of eight criteria must be satisfied to achieve the minimum level and be awarded a silver accreditation.

Better living Solution  can provide LHA provisional certificate (Based on approved construction drawings) & LHA As built certificate (to be certified post construction)
